“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with
some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and
comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But we will not boast of
things without (beyond) our measure, but according to the measure of the rule
which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.”
~ 2 Corinthians 10:12,13
I’ve been thinking a lot about how we compete with others. It’s fun to
get recognition for our accomplishments, isn't it? But on the real side of life
..... who is it best that you compare yourself to? No one but yourself! Only you
have your set of values, priorities, obstacles, strengths, and
weaknesses. You have what God has given you to work with! As you work your
business this year, try to beat whatever level you reached for the same month
last year! That way you are not comparing yourself to anyone but yourself! See
how you do!!
We all start with a clean slate each month. If you recently joined our
team or are restarting your business, then the sky’s the limit!
Have fun with this! ~Deb Casey
GOAL SETTING
A goal must be:
1. Measurable... let's say your goal is to sell
$2,000 retail a month. This would earn you $500 commission plus $75
sales bonus. With a measurable goal such as this you can now break it down
into bite size pieces to work towards! You now would know to plan on
holding 6 shows per month? To hold 6 shows, you book 8 shows a month
knowing that someone might need to reschedule. You would work on having
your show sales average to be at least $350 in retail sales per show. This
would help you hit your goal!
2. Realistic... continuing to use the above
goal? This goal would be realistic if you have 2 nights a week that you
can schedule to be gone from home.
3. Able to set a Deadline... it is always easier
to hit a target when you have one to aim for! If you want to reach the
goal of hitting Platinum in the One-Step-At-A-Time, then you would need to focus
on your 12 week deadline set by the home office when you join!
4. Accountable... tell a friend, your honey, or your
supervisor your goal. Ask them to help hold you accountable by offering
"positive feedback" as you strive towards your goal.
5. Re-evaluated... if you
wanted to drive from Ohio to Colorado and you got 320 miles into your trip and
you were faced with one detour sign, would you say, "Forget this!" and
go home??? No! Realize that you are going to have detours as you work
towards your goals! I don't know about you, but my days never go
completely as I've planned them! I've found that if you can take one step
forward at a time, eventually you find yourself finishing your trip!
